Liverpool starlet heaps praise on Jurgen Klopp, says the German is a massive influence on youngsters

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Trent Alexander-Arnold has played a key role for us throughout this season. His performances at right-back have been absolutely phenomenal and he is definitely someone to watch out for in the future.

Liverpool, in general, have enjoyed a good season and our front trio consisting of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah has received a good majority of the limelight. Undeniably, Alexander-Arnold deserves a lot of credit for the way he has established himself in the first-team.

In addition to his fantastic defensive displays, Alexander-Arnold has also chipped in with 2 goals and 2 assists in 26 appearances across competitions for Liverpool. According to Squawka, the player has also created 22 chances in 16 Premier League games, which is pretty impressive for a defender.

Suffice to say, he is easily one of the most talented young stars in the English top-flight right now. The 19-year-old has also put in magnificent displays in the Champions League this term and his future does look bright.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Alexander-Arnold credited all of his success to our gaffer, Jurgen Klopp. Donning an air of modesty, the teenage sensation said:

“He’s a massive influence. You hear a lot of players saying a manager is like a father figure, and I think that’s definitely the case with the manager here.

“He’s really encouraging for young players, it’s like he can read your mind. He knows what to say, when to say it and how to say it.

“There’s times he might think you need a bit of a telling off, but there’s other times when you might need a bit of encouragement, and that’s what he does as well. That’s the good thing about him – he knows what to do and when to do it.”

Alexander-Arnold also went on to praise Klopp’s understanding of the game and spoke about how it was important for the club to push until they reach greater heights in the seasons to come.

It’s really heartwarming to see a young lad develop at our club. Trent is a massively talented youngster and I’m very sure that he will go on to achieve a lot at Liverpool and end up as a club legend.

Good luck Trent!
