Liverpool have enjoyed immense success in the Champions League this season and all of it has been truly delightful to watch. But a terrible injury to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain certainly dampened the mood in the Reds’ camp.

Despite making a slow start upon his arrival from Arsenal last summer, Ox has gone on to become an integral player for Jurgen Klopp. Philippe Coutinho’s departure opened a spot in the midfield department and the 23-year-old has certainly grabbed the opportunity with both hands.

He has truly blossomed in recent times, which makes his injury all the more devastating. Unfortunately for the promising youngster, he picked up a knee injury in the first-leg of the CL semi-final against AS Roma at Anfield. It was clear that the injury looked bad and it was deduced that he will need surgery for the same.

Ox will obviously have to miss the rest of the season and the upcoming World Cup in Russia but that did not seem to bring his spirits down.

If his recent post on Instagram is anything to go by, it only seems like Ox is working hard to get back to action soon. He put up a picture of himself in the hospital watching Liverpool’s second-leg game against Roma and for his caption, he wrote: “Watching the boys in Rome last week taking us one step closer to something very special. Knee surgery was a success and the hard work has already begun “.

To be honest, I can’t wait for Ox to get back to normal. He boasts of immense potential and while his injury has come at a bad time, it is encouraging to see him working towards getting better. I wish him a speedy recovery and let’s hope we see him in a Liverpool jersey again soon.
