Liverpool would have to fork out £62million if they are to sign Fiorentina’s rising star Federico Chiesa, according to reports from Italy.
Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Metro) claims that the Serie A side is ready to sell their starlet but will only do so if a club meets the asking price for Chiesa.
It isn’t just Liverpool who want the 20-year-old as the report claims that Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested in the Italian. The Serie A club had slapped a price tag of £44m on the attacker but have upped the price after a lot of interest.
Chiesa can play in a number of positions but played most of his games last season on the right-wing. The youngster can play either as an attacking midfielder or as a wide man and is comfortable on either side of the pitch.
The youngster’s output wasn’t all that great, with 6 goals and 5 assists from 36 games in the Serie A, but he did make four appearances for the national side too and his last appearance came in the 1-1 draw against the Dutch.
While Chiesa is a talent to keep an eye on, it will be a big risk for Klopp to sign him as the youngster has never played in the Premier League and also his asking price is extremely high.
There will be a lot of interest for the 20-year-old from a number of clubs but hopefully, we can stay clear of the Italian and bring someone who would be a guaranteed hit at Anfield.
