The craziness of the transfer window will not stop, even with the World Cup on the horizon. Players, fans and clubs will constantly be in the news with many hoping that the next big thing will arrive at their team.
Liverpool fans have had their ups and downs over the recent years and even in the recent weeks, we have been delighted and astounded in equal measure.
Signing Fabinho from Monaco came out of the blue but the breakdown in discussions to bring Nabil Fekir to Anfield has hit us hard.
However, it looks like Liverpool have missed out on another target, as Thomas Lemar has agreed to move to Atletico Madrid.
Lemar had been linked with Liverpool but since we did not pursue the Frenchman this time around, some Liverpool fans believe we might actually have signed Fekir or will do in the coming days.
I think us not approaching Thomas Lemar shows that the deal isn’t dead for Nabil Fekir. I think the deal will get announced in July / August. Everything still agreed, just think the fee will drop and Lyon will be willing to sell. Klopp wants, Klopp gets. #lfc

Reading between the lines, Liverpool wouldn’t let Lemar go to Atletico if they weren’t confident in getting Fekir and or someone else

Fekir moved ahead of him in the pecking order, but Klopp+Edwards were clearly big fans of Lemar,so wouldn’t have been put off him due to an injury disrupted season, when his talent is clear
Don’t think they’d let Atléti buy him unchallenged,if they weren’t still confident on Fekir https://t.co/1Paceiu5cp

Odd how Athletico were able to agree a deal for Lemar now but Liverpool had to rush to get their Video etc done before Fekir went to the WC 🤔🤔
