Liverpool are interested in FC Porto left-back Alex Telles, according to French publication Le Parisien (h/t The Express).
The 25-year-old Telles was in brilliant form for the Portuguese club as he scored 4 goals and provided 14 assists in all competitions for the side and won the league title with Porto.
The report claims that the Reds are tracking the defender who was has a release clause of £35million. Chelsea is the other Premier League side interested in the attack-minded Brazilian.
Additional competition for Andrew Robertson?
This could be seen as a move in bringing more competition for Andrew Robertson, given that Alberto Moreno has not consistently done well at Anfield since moving from Sevilla.
Robertson was one of our best players last season and seems set to get even better in the upcoming campaign but bringing in Telles would add more quality and depth to the side.
The 25-year-old is known for his crossing ability and also his set-piece ability, so he would be a decent signing even if the release clause is £35million.
The other factor could be that Moreno’s contract is up at the end of next season and it would make sense if we do sell the Spaniard now rather than let him go for free.
Jurgen Klopp does have to make the side better if we are to challenge for the Premier League title and bringing players such as Telles is the perfect way to go about.
