Sadio Mane

Sadio Mane led his team to a victory over Poland in their World Cup opener and Spanish reports now claim that the Liverpool man is a target for Barcelona.

Don Balon (h/t The Express) claims that Philippe Coutinho wants the Catalan giants to make a move for Mane after Antoine Griezmann decided to stay at Atletico Madrid.

Coutinho, as we all know, left Liverpool in January for a fee reported of £142m and helped Barcelona pick up the La Liga title.

Mane, for his part, had a decent enough season for us as he bagged 20 goals in all competitions and also provided 8 assists. The 26-year-old also helped us reach the Champions League final and got the only goal of the game for us in a losing cause.

The Senegal star has formed quite a formidable partnership alongside Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah and his form over the past two seasons has seen him get linked with a move to Real Madrid as well.

Mane might not have scored the same number of goals as Mohamed Salah but he is an electric player to have in the side, thanks to his speed and dribbling ability. It should come as no surprise that Coutinho wants to play alongside Mane again.

However, even if Coutinho comes calling, we have to keep Mane at all costs given that we have one of the best attacks in the world. Replacing the 26-year-old would be an extremely difficult task.

Mane could do well for any club in the World, especially for a team like Barcelona but he is a Liverpool player for now and should be for a number of years to come.
