Liverpool new boy Naby Keita has been handed the No.8 jersey by none other than club legend Steven Gerrard as the Guinea star is set to become a sensation in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old had a couple of decent seasons with RB Leipzig and will become a Liverpool player from 1st July as we had already confirmed a deal for the powerhouse at the start of last season.
Keita would become the first player to take up the iconic jersey at Anfield since Gerrard left the club to join the LA Galaxy.
The Guinea star was handed the jersey by Gerrard at Melwood when the Englishman was our U18 manager, and the player added that he was surprised when the legend gave the jersey to him.
The club also took the opportunity to snap the new midfielder in action while Keita also posed in the locker room.
Keita was speaking to the Liverpool side and added that Gerrard is a legend and when someone like him gives a player a jersey, it is a big deal.
The Guinea midfielder does have big shoes to fill and it will be tough for him to have the same impact Gerrard had for us during the Englishman’s tenure.

Jurgen Klopp has certainly brought one of the most exciting players from the Bundesliga to Anfield and if Keita plays to his potential, we will win a lot of trophies with the midfielder in our side.
