“Great business”, “Worth £40m” – These Liverpool fans go crazy as club closes in on £13.75m coup

Xherdan Shaqiri

Liverpool could be set to name their newest signing of the season as the Daily Mail reports that a deal for Xherdan Shaqiri has been struck with Stoke City.

The Swiss attacker had earlier stated that he would be returning to the Premier League after relegation with Stoke last season. The Reds would have to pay £13.75m for the 26-year-old and a medical is expected on Friday.

Shaqiri would provide us with quality cover for the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, while he can also play as an attacking midfielder. The 26-year-old could also be a part of the team that takes part in the US pre-season games.

Shaqiri coming to Liverpool would be a great bit of business given his price-tag and his ability. A number of Liverpool fans were ecstatic on Twitter that the Swiss star would be a Red soon.
