Liverpool reject Serie A approach for young midfielder – Reds value him at £20m

Marko Grujic

A move from Torino to sign Marko Grujic on loan has been rejected by Liverpool, according to the Liverpool Echo

.

The Serie A side were willing to pay £9million to make the deal permanent for the Serbian, as per the report, but the offer was turned down by the Reds.

The report further claims that the Reds want Grujic to sign a new deal before leaving on loan.  Liverpool believe the player has a future at Anfield and value him at £20million.

Grujic spent the second half of last season on loan with Cardiff and helped the Bluebirds gain promotion to the Premier League.

The 22-year-old was linked (h/t Liverpool Echo) with a return to the Welsh side this season but remained at Anfield and is considering his options.

The report further adds that Grujic’s agent, Zoran Stojadinovic, has informed the club that CSKA Moscow want to sign the player on loan. However, the Russians have not made a formal bid for the 22-year-old.

Grujic needs to play regular football if his development is to continue. Unfortunately, his chances of starting regularly for the Reds seem limited due to the sheer number of midfielders we currently have.

The Serbian is a talent we should not let go of and it will be interesting to see which club he joins before the end of the transfer window.
