The Telegraph reports that Liverpool will allow Divock Origi to join Borussia Dortmund on loan only if the German club buys the player after the completion of the loan spell.
The report adds that the Bundesliga giants are in talks with the Reds to complete the move before the transfer deadline. Dortmund want to sign the 23-year-old on loan and consider Liverpool’s asking price of £27million
too high, as per the Telegraph. The Reds do not want Origi’s value to drop and with only two years left on his contract, Liverpool will only loan the player out if Dortmund agree to buy the Belgian at the end of the deal, according to the report.
The report adds that Origi is open to joining the Bundesliga club but is happy at Liverpool. The Belgian believes he can compete for a spot in Jurgen Klopp’s team.
Liverpool and Dortmund could strike a deal for the Belgian, similar to the one for Danny Ings. The report claims the Reds wanted £24m for the Englishman but the striker joined Southampton on loan and will sign permanently for the Saints at the end of the season for £18m plus £2m in add-ons. Origi spent last season on loan with Wolfsburg but he did not set the Bundesliga alight.
