Liverpool have appointed former Lille and Marseille midfielder Sylvain N’Diaye to help sign talents from the La Liga, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The report adds that N’Diaye spent three seasons working as a scout for Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain. The former Ligue 1 star is expected to work under Kiko Espinar, who is our head of scouting in Portugal and Spain, as per the report.

Liverpool haven’t signed a single player from the La Liga during Jurgen Klopp’s spell at the club. The last player we signed from the Spanish league was Alberto Moreno, who joined us from Sevilla in 2014.

The Reds had a number of Spanish players during Rafa Benitez’s era as the likes of Xabi Alonso, Luis Garcia, Pepe Reina and Fernando Torres starring for us.

Klopp has made some great buys in the transfer window even though he has not tapped into the Spanish league.

Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have been quality since the first day. Other players such as James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana have all improved under the gaffer too.

We might not have signed La Liga players under Klopp but if we could procure the next big thing from Spain, it would be a great move.
