Sadio Mane has claimed that he is faster than Mohamed Salah while speaking to Marca (h/t Liverpool Echo).
The Senegalese was asked if he had beaten the Egyptian in a race to which he replied:
“Yes, of course I’m faster!” he said. “Maybe not in short distances, but in 100 or 200 metres I win for sure.”
Mane has scored three goals this season while Salah has a couple from our opening Premier League fixtures.
The former Southampton man has only gotten better with time and added that he was lucky to have Jurgen Klopp.
“He is a guy who loves what he does, who motivates you, who improves you at all times and raises your level on the field.
“He has a special relationship with the players and that motivates us.
“Has it improved me as a footballer? Of course I have got better, I learned a lot and I’m very lucky to have it.”
Liverpool are on top of the Premier League table at the moment and this is one competition we are yet to win.
Mane added that the team want to win it this year and that the club had bought quality players to achieve that goal. However, the Senegal star was quick to suggest that we can’t talk about trophies now as the season has only just begun (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Liverpool do need to win a trophy under Klopp and this season could be our year of breaking the duck under our manager.
Mane would be a key player for the side and hopefully, we will celebrate at Anfield at the end of the season.
