Liverpool star stays positive despite being ruled out for entire season

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain provided an update regarding his injury as he tries to get back to full fitness.

The Liverpool midfielder suffered multiple ligament damages in our 5-2 Champions League semi-final win over AS Roma and Liverpool Echo reports that he is set to miss the entirety of this campaign.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was speaking on Sky Sports (h/t Liverpool Echo) during England’s match against Spain and was quoted as saying:

“It is a very serious injury.

“It can happen to any of us at any time and that’s obviously something that’s never easy to deal with and get over.

“I’m trying to stay positive, that’s the sort of character I am. I feel that’s the best way to move things forward.

“I’m in good spirits and I’m progressing for sure.”

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The Ox had a slow start to his Liverpool career after moving from Arsenal last season. However, he improved massively during the second half of the season and his absence in the Champions League final certainly cost us.

We will miss him this season as well but we do have added reinforcements in the midfield.

Naby Keita and Fabinho joined the side in the summer but their roles are different when compared to the Ox.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s dynamism in the midfield will be missed for sure and hopefully, he comes back stronger and better than ever before next season.
