A number of Liverpool players were in action during the international break. Mohamed Salah, Jordan Henderson, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Xherdan Shaqiri featured for their respective nations.
Salah was in incredible form as he scored a pair, assisted two goals and even missed a couple of penalties in his country’s 6-0 win over Niger. Shaqiri featured in a 6-0 win over Iceland and the Swiss star scored a fantastic free-kick too.
The Swiss forward hasn’t started a game for us but has made a few substitute appearances. Shaqiri should receive some game time after we return from the international break since Liverpool have a daunting schedule.
The Reds take on Napoli, Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Chelsea in a number of competitions and some Liverpool fans wanted him to get more starts at the club.

Shaqiri’s free kick that lead to the goal for Switzerland today. He bossed it today. He will be excellent for Jurgen and a ton of games coming up I expect him to start a few soon. pic.twitter.com/JIsbWxpwDZ

Didn’t see the whole game but his delivery on set pieces is outstanding and he will be a big plus for us this season when he plays.

What a great display from Shaqiri today. Was involved in almost every goal. Played out wide, but was much better in the number 10 behind the strikers. He needs more minutes for #LFC
