Alisson to return in goal: Predicted Liverpool line-up to face Chelsea in Premier League

Liverpool must be looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season handed out by Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

A late goal from Eden Hazard gave the Blues a 2-1 win at Anfield but the Reds made a number of changes to their regular starting XI.

Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Georginio Wijnaldum, Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson and Joe Gomez did not start the clash. Hence, Jurgen Klopp must push the team to deliver a brilliant response in our next game which is against the Blues on Saturday.

The Reds have a two-point lead at the top of the table and here is our predicted line-up for the huge clash.

Alisson (GK)

The Brazilian didn’t play against the Blues on Wednesday and should return to the starting XI, looking to keep a fifth clean sheet.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

Another player rested for the weekend clash, Trent has to be at his best to keep the Chelsea attack quiet.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

It will be touch and go for Van Dijk to return from his rib injury. If we want to win at the Bridge, the Dutch defender has to play.

Joe Gomez (CB)

Gomez was also rested for the clash against the Blues but he should be looking to dominate Chelsea’s attackers on Saturday.

Andy Robertson (LB)

Alberto Moreno struggled to keep Hazard tied up and Robertson will have his hands full with the Belgian in such great form.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM)

Possibly our best midfielder this season, Wijnaldum didn’t play against Chelsea but has to start against the Blues on Saturday.

Jordan Henderson (CM)

Hendo was given a few minutes on the pitch in the 2-1 loss on Wednesday but our captain should start on Saturday, as we aim to make it seven Premier League wins in a row.

James Milner (CM)

It was a bit of a surprise seeing Milner start the Carabao Cup game but the Englishman was replaced after 60 minutes of the game, meaning he should retain his spot.

Mohamed Salah (RW)

Salah was a late sub in the game against Chelsea and our star winger has to start in the Premier League clash this weekend.

Roberto Firmino (ST)

The Brazilian came on as a substitute but should be in the starting line-up to face the Blues on Saturday.

Sadio Mane (LW)

Mane did start the Carabao Cup game but couldn’t get on the scoreboard. The Senegal star was replaced with 20 minutes to go and should start at Stamford Bridge.
