“Boss today”, “Well played” – Some Liverpool fans pleased with star’s incredible performance in 0-0 City draw

Liverpool and Manchester City played out a drab 0-0 draw at Anfield that kept both sides unbeaten in the Premier League.

The point meant the three-way battle for the Premier League crown is set to continue as Chelsea are also on 20 points, just like City and Liverpool.

There wasn’t much to talk about in the 90 minutes, apart from Riyad Mahrez blasting the ball over the bar after City won a penalty.

There might have been concerns as we played Dejan Lovren from the start. This was the Croatian’s first start in the Premier League, but he was exceptional in the game.

The World Cup runner-up barely put a foot wrong and dealt well with the threat of Gabriel Jesus. Sergio Aguero was ineffective and had to be replaced, while Lovren enjoyed an incredible return to the first-team.

This will come as great news for the Reds as Lovren can push for a starting place in the coming months. A number of fans were ecstatic with the performance and shared their reactions on Twitter.
