“Hopefully it’s nothing” – Jurgen Klopp hopeful of star midfielder not being out for long

Liverpool have confirmed that Jordan Henderson was taken off at half-time against Huddersfield as a precaution.

The Liverpool captain was replaced by Georginio Wijnaldum at the break, and Jurgen Klopp was hopeful that the problem was not a serious one.

The German was asked if the move to replace Hendo was a precaution and Klopp replied:

“I hope so.

“It was not that he felt nothing but he didn’t feel a lot. He wanted to carry on – that’s a good sign. We decided no. Hopefully it’s nothing.”

The Englishman had a decent first half for the Reds which saw Mohamed Salah score the only goal of the game.

The Reds have been hit by a number of injuries during the international break, and Sadio Mane was not included in the matchday squad either. Naby Keita also picked up an injury during the international break, and Salah only recovered in time to play at the weekend.

Fortunately for the team, our next two games aren’t the toughest as we face Red Star Belgrade and Cardiff City.

Jurgen Klopp could rotate the side around as we did against Huddersfield. We started with Xherdan Shaqiri, Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana against the Terriers.

Henderson is an important member of the side, and it will be interesting how we deal with this latest problem. Our next tough game is against Arsenal on 3 November and we should be at full strength by then.
