Adrien Rabiot could sign a new deal and remain at Paris Saint-Germain, according to Canal+ journalist Olivier Tallaron (h/t Express).
The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Liverpool (h/t Express), but Tallaron claims only the length of the contract is to be decided.
“At this moment, only the duration of the new contract is pending.”
The report claims that the Frenchman rejected three contract offers from the Ligue 1 giants. The 23-year-old seemed set to leave on a free at the end of the season with Barcelona also interested in the midfielder.
French football expert Julien Laurens was certain of our interest in the player and was quoted by the Express as saying:
“I don’t think it’s the first time Rabiot’s men have talked with people from the club. The interest from Klopp is even pre-Liverpool and Liverpool, since Klopp have always been there.”
The report adds that Rabiot’s mother was also negotiating a deal and wanted a huge signing on fee for her son.
Getting Rabiot on a free would have been a great deal since he has a lot of potential. We might have had to pay a huge fee for the 23-year-old, but it would have been worth it.
