Xherdan Shaqiri of Liverpool

Switzerland stunned Belgium in their UEFA Nations League clash with Xherdan Shaqiri playing a key role in the 5-2 win.

Thorgan Hazard scored twice for the away side in the opening 17 minutes but a penalty from Ricardo Rodriguez and a hat-trick from Haris Seferovic with Nico Elvedi getting on the scoresheet ensured Switzerland qualified for the semi-finals of the competition.

Xherdan Shaqiri was at the heart of some of the hosts best moments and had two assists to his name. The Liverpool star also played a role in the fifth goal with a magnificent back-heel.

Shaqiri’s stock has been on the rise at Anfield and the Swiss started in our 2-0 win over Fulham. The former Stoke City player scored a wonderful volley from an Andy Robertson cross to make the three points safe against the Cottagers.

Several Liverpool fans were pleased with the Alpine Messi’s performance, and they couldn’t get enough of the attacker.
