Key Liverpool star believes “something” is going on at the club this season

Virgil van Dijk believes there is “something going on” at Liverpool after a great start to their Premier League campaign.

The Dutch defender was speaking to ESPN FC and claimed he expected a lot of improvement from himself after making the move:

“I’ve expected a lot from myself, to improve as a player and as a human being as well.

“It has been going well and good, obviously, but in the end we have nothing at this moment other than a lot of improvement and being on the right track.

“But I feel there is something going on here. We have got great momentum at the moment.”

The Dutch defender added that there is scope for a lot of improvement at the club but claimed that the team is on the right track.

Van Dijk made the switch from Southampton at the start of the year and helped us reach the Champions League final.

The Reds have one of the meanest defences since Van Dijk joined us, and we have only conceded five goals from 14 games in the Premier League this season.

The defender moved for a fee of £75million (h/t ESPN) and added that he has to keep playing well or talk about his transfer fee will crop up.

“If things are not going well, then people will talk about that [transfer fee].

“But it is something that I can’t obviously manage, so I just need to accept it.”

The Reds seem to have found one of the best defenders in the world, and so far, he is worth every penny we have spent.

Van Dijk will be a legend if he keeps performing at the highest levels, and hopefully, he leads us to a few titles as well.
