Mohamed Salah scored a fantastic hat-trick in our 4-0 win over Bournemouth but the Liverpool star didn’t celebrate a lot.
In fact, after each of his goals, the Egyptian found it hard to break a smile too. There seemed to be something bothering the forward, despite getting three goals in the tie.
The first goal could have been called offside while the second one saw Salah stare at a Bournemouth player after being raked from behind just before scoring.
The final goal of the evening, his hat-trick, also didn’t see wild celebrations with Salah just pushing his arms out wide and going towards the travelling Liverpool fans.
Jurgen Klopp was also asked about the muted celebrations and the German played it safe with his response (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“I didn’t really see it to be honest.
“I’m not sure – if he didn’t celebrate I cannot say anything about it because I didn’t see it.”
The German, however, was unconcerned by Salah’s performances this season and wanted the player to develop more.
This certainly was one of the best performances from the Egyptian as he ran rings around the Cherries defence. He will face a much sterner test on Tuesday when the Reds face Napoli in a Champions League decider.
Should we win by two clear goals or a 1-0 will be enough to see us through into the next round, but the Italians will not be easy to beat, even if we are playing at Anfield.
