Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was speaking ahead of the game against Newcastle and claimed that the Reds are open to transfers in the winter window.
The manager was happy with the bunch at Anfield but kept the “door open” in case things change. The German added that it is important for the team to react in the window due to the sheer number of games coming up (h/t Liverpoolfc.com):
“I’m very happy with what I’ve got and what I have, but how I said, we don’t know and that’s the only little bit why I keep the door open because if some things happen then we need to have a look.
“Well, if a few more things happen then we need to have a look because there are a monstrous number of games still and it’s really important that we can always react.
“But as long as we can react then it’s all good, but how I said, if something will dramatically change then we need to have a look, that’s all. If nothing happens, then I would say we will not do anything.”
The Reds were extremely active in the summer window, signing four players, but we normally avoid making big moves in January under Jurgen Klopp.
There are a few injury concerns at the moment as Joel Matip and Joe Gomez are out with fractures, and it will be important for the pair to return to fitness quickly.
However, a quality signing or two could take us to the next level as we look to win the Premier League. The Reds are four points ahead of Manchester City and we face the Cityzens in a huge clash on January 3.
