Jurgen Klopp has told Liverpool to improve in the second half as the Reds look to win the Premier League title for the first time.

The Reds are four points ahead of Manchester City after 18 games and have the best defensive record in the Premier League.

The manager was also asked if this season had exceeded his expectations but the German claimed he didn’t have many expectations and wanted the side to just win games (h/t Guardian):

“I knew about the potential of my team but I didn’t know how it would all work together. You don’t think about December when you start in June, but of course being unbeaten in the league in December is not something I have had too often.

“Did I expect that? Not really. Did I think about any defeat when I started in June? Not one.”

Klopp also spoke about our rivals doing well. He claimed that it was acting as the catalyst for the side to improve.

“We did really well so far and we have to do even better from now on, because you can see all the other teams are doing really well. That’s the challenge for us, to be focused and as successful as possible.”

Tottenham and Manchester City sit just six and four points behind us in the Premier League respectively and we have to keep going for the rest of the season.

Liverpool have some tough games coming up against Arsenal and Manchester City and hopefully, we beat them and extend our lead at the top.
