Liverpool want £30m-a-year rise in new kit deal – would become Premier League’s highest

Liverpool players celebrate a goal

Liverpool are negotiating a Premier League record-breaking kit deal, according to the Daily Mail. The report suggests that the Reds want to eclipse the £75million-a-year agreement that Manchester United have with Adidas.

New Balance are the current manufacturers of the Liverpool kit and the deal is worth £45m-a-year

(h/t Daily Mail). However, the deal ends in 2019/20, and if they are to continue being our kit makers, New Balance have to increase their offer by at least £30m-a-year, as per the report.

The Reds have been on an incredible growth under FSG, with the appointment of Jurgen Klopp transforming the team.

We reached the finals of the Europa League and Champions League under the German, and lie four points clear of Manchester City in the Premier League this time around.

Forbes (h/t Daily Mail) ranked us as the fourth most valuable club in the Premier League while the Reds are in the top five strongest football brands according to Brand Finance (h/t Daily Mail

).

Some of the other Premier League clubs have huge deals too, with Manchester City starting a £50m-a-year deal with Puma next season while Arsenal and Chelsea earn £60m-a-year from their latest deals, as per the Daily Mail.

The valuation for the new deal doesn’t seem excessive given that we are one of the best teams in the land and are getting better with each season under Klopp.

It will be interesting to see if any other company bids to become our kit manufacturer. Winning a trophy will certainly add a few million to the deal.
