Nathaniel Clyne could be on his way to Cardiff City as the Bluebirds believe they can sign the Liverpool defender on loan in January (h/t Mirror).
The Englishman has lost his starting spot at the Reds to Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez but has played a few minutes as the injuries have piled up at Liverpool.
The former Southampton star also missed a majority of last season with an injury, and the Mirror claims that Jurgen Klopp is ready to let Clyne leave to get first-team starts.
There is interest from other quarters as Fulham and Leicester City are keeping tabs on the 27-year-old, however, Neil Warnock could use his connections with the player to sign him.
The pair worked together at Crystal Palace and the report claims that Clyne would slot straight into the Welsh side’s starting XI if he joins.
The 27-year-old is one of the most consistent defenders in the Premier League, when fit, however, he doesn’t pose the same attacking threat that Trent Alexander-Arnold does.
It will be interesting to see if Klopp allows for any departures in the winter window given how well we have done this season.
Clyne needs minutes, and he would make Cardiff’s defence better if he joins in January, but we should only let him leave if we have enough cover for our full-backs.

Joe Gomez is set to return next month from an injury and we could play James Milner or Fabinho on either side of the centre-backs if needed.
