Liverpool face their toughest test this season as they inch towards Premier League glory. The Reds travel to the Etihad with a seven-point gap over Manchester City.

The previous meeting between the sides ended goal-less, however, City will want to win this tie and cut the gap to the Premier League leaders.

The Reds are unbeaten in the league after 20 games and one reason has been a tight defence. We have conceded just eight goals in the league this season with Virgil van Dijk standing tall.

The Dutch defender was pictured training ahead of the clash and is one of the keys to us doing well on Thursday.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was also spotted in training, and the right-back needs to be at his best if he starts on Thursday.

Xherdan Shaqiri has been great in recent weeks and would want to repeat his performance from a couple of weeks ago where he scored a brace against Manchester United.

Mohamed Salah got a goal in our most recent win, the 5-1 against Arsenal. However, the star of the show was Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian hasn’t been prolific in front of goal this season, but scored a well-deserved hat-trick in the thrashing for the Gunners.

Another Brazilian doing well has been Fabinho, and it will be interesting to see if the midfielder starts against Pep Guardiola’s side.

Jurgen Klopp has a decent record against Pep with his Liverpool team. We lost just one tie from four last season against the Cityzens, and avoiding defeat will be a great result on Thursday.

Liverpool could move one step closer to Premier League glory on Thursday, and this tie should be a treat for all football lovers.
