Liverpool could sign Bundesliga hotshot for just £36m if he refuses contract at current club

Liverpool could move for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner if the German rejects a new contract with the club, according to Bild (h/t Metro).

The 22-year-old German struggled in the World Cup but has found the back of the net 11 times this season.

The report claims that Leipzig want the German to sign a new contract and his current deal ends in 2020.

The talented striker could be bought for just £36m should he not sign a new deal, as per the report, and the German believes he is ready for a big move.

The report adds that Bayern Munich are also interested in the 22-year-old, and Werner has claimed that the Bavarians are in the mix should he leave Leipzig.

The German spoke about the Premier League and how he supports us and Manchester United in an interview with FourFourTwo (h/t Metro):

“Manchester United and Liverpool were the teams I watched quite a lot in England. They were the two that I’m a little bit a fan of, because they have so much history.”

The German would be an incredible signing for the Reds given his talent and age. Werner is only going to get better in the years to come, and Jurgen Klopp would know a lot about the striker given his links in the Bundesliga.

Liverpool have a few quality forwards with Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah taking turns to lead the line, however, someone like Werner would be quality for years to come.
