Dominic King has dashed rumours that Liverpool could be moving for Nabil Fekir in the winter window.
The reporter tweeted about some bookmakers slashing the odds for the Frenchman to become a Red, and King added that the Lyon midfielder will not be a target for the Premier League leaders again.
The journalist even claimed that Liverpool would not make any signings in the winter window.
Some bookmakers are offering prices on Nabil Fekir joining Liverpool and suggesting “odds are tumbling”. It’s absolute garbage.
Let’s be clear for one last time – Nabil Fekir is not a Liverpool target. He will not be a target again. Liverpool won’t say anyone this month 🔴— Dominic King (@DominicKing_DM) January 3, 2019
Fekir was linked with the Reds in the summer but his move fell through after a problem during the medical (h/t Mirror). The Frenchman went on to lift the World Cup and has been one of Lyon’s best players this season.
Liverpool made several big-money signings in the summer, and are doing very well this season. Despite the recent loss to Manchester City, we have a four-point lead over them in the Premier League standings.
The Reds face a tricky tie against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, but if we play to our potential, the Bavarians would be dispatched off easily.
Fekir would add another creative dimension to the team if he were to join, but King’s message doesn’t provide much hope of new faces coming into Anfield this month.
Jurgen Klopp hasn’t been a big spender in the winter windows during his tenure at Liverpool, however, it would be great if we make a signing or two and strengthen the side for the second half of the campaign.
