“Don’t think they have room for him” – Journalist claims Liverpool will not move for this World Cup winner

Football journalist Chris Parrott has weighed in on why Liverpool will not move for Nabil Fekir in the winter window.

The Lyon attacker was close to signing as a Red in the summer, but the deal fell through (h/t Daily Star). The Reds signed Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City, and the Swiss has been brilliant since his move to Anfield.

Parrott believes that Shaqiri’s success and Liverpool’s current position are reasons why Fekir will not be signing for the Reds.

Talksport host Danny Kelly asked Parrott the Frenchman joining Liverpool and the journalist claimed he could not see where Fekir would fit into this side (h/t Daily Star):

“I don’t see where he would fit in. I don’t think they have room for him anymore.”

Parrott spoke about Shaqiri fits into the side well given we have a quality front three. The journalist even claimed that Daniel Sturridge has been doing a good job this season, and believed Lyon playing in the Champions League will rule out a transfer for Fekir.

“Certainly not this January, and the fact that Lyon are through to the round of 16 in the Champions League means that he’s not going to leave, and I imagine, or I feel, that Liverpool might have moved on from that transfer.”

Fekir has had a decent season with Lyon, and we could do with another quality attacker for the remainder of the campaign.
