Liverpool will scout Italian striker Ciro Immobile next weekend when Lazio face Napoli in a huge clash, according to Anfield Press (h/t Calciomercato).

The 28-year-old forward has been the most consistent Italian striker in recent years and has 13 goals and six assists to his name this season.

Immobile smashed 26 goals in his first season with the Eagles and scored 41 times last time around. The 28-year-old has been a bit of a journeyman playing for several clubs in Italy and also under Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund.

Tuttosport (h/t Calciomercato) adds that Napoli are also interested in the 28-year-old and Immobile will decide on his future at the end of the season.

The striker is contracted with the Serie A team till 2023 and could do a great job for any of the top sides in Europe.

Although Immobile would fit well into our playing style, he doesn’t have the best memories while playing under Klopp. The Italian struggled at Dortmund and lasted just one season after a big money move.

Immobile managed just three Bundesliga goals in his only season at Dortmund and was sent to Sevilla on loan before joining Torino. Lazio took the plunge on him a few years ago, and it has paid rich dividends.

There is no denying his talent in front of goal, and he would be a quality addition to the side. Klopp and Immobile have grown after their time at Dortmund, and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool make a move for the 28-year-old.
