“Every player would like to train under Jurgen Klopp” – Former Red praises Liverpool’s performances and progress

Luis Suarez

Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has claimed that every former player remains connected to the Reds, adding that everyone wants to train under Jurgen Klopp.

The Uruguayan striker joined Barcelona during Brendan Rodgers’ tenure and has won trophies galore at the Catalan giants.

The forward was speaking to German football magazine 11FREUNDE

(h/t Mirror), and replied when asked if he would like to play under Klopp:

“Currently we work for two different clubs so that’s not an issue for me at the moment.

“But sure every player would like to train under Jurgen Klopp.”

The former Red added that players have a special connection to the club, and was keeping a close eye as to how things progress this season.

“Anyone who has ever played in Liverpool remains connected to the club for a lifetime.

“The team plays terrific football and I am very interested in how they will do this year. I think we can still be prepared for a lot.”

Jurgen Klopp in training

The Reds lead the Premier League over Manchester City and have lost just one game in the league campaign all season.

Liverpool are in the Champions League knockout rounds but face a tough clash against Bayern Munich in the round of 16.

Suarez was part of the team that missed out on the Premier League title under Rodgers, but the current team seems better equipped in all departments.

Our defence was a problem while Suarez played here but that is no longer the issue under Klopp. The Reds have conceded just 13 goals from 23 league games, and hold a four-point lead over the Cityzens.

Suarez would have been a wonderful addition to this Liverpool side with his energy and quality, but it seems he will be sticking to Barcelona for a few years more.
