Liverpool meet with agent of rebel 18-year-old Chelsea attacker over possible move

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Liverpool have entered the race to sign Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to Bild (h/t Express).

The 18-year-old has been frustrated by a lack of first-team minutes under Maurizio Sarri this season, and the report adds that Bayern Munich are also interested in the attacker.

The Englishman has mostly started in the Europe League games for the Blues, and the report

claims that he is set to reject a deal worth £85,000-a-week from Chelsea to extend his stay.

The report claims that Liverpool met with the player’s agent and brother, Bradley, at the start of January regarding a potential deal.

There is interest from another German club too with RB Leipzig tabling an offer for the 18-year-old, as per the report.

Chelsea and Sarri are desperate for the Englishman to stay, and it will be interesting to see how this plays out in the coming weeks.

Joe Gomez (L) and Trent Alexander-Arnold celebrate

Liverpool could do with more attackers in their side, but it seems unlikely we will be dipping into the transfer window in January.

Hudson-Odoi wants regular first-team minutes and that would be difficult to attain at Liverpool due to the presence of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

The pair are our first-choice wingers, however, the appeal of playing under Klopp could work in our favour in luring Hudson-Odoi.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain signed for us from Arsenal, while Dominic Solanke moved to Anfield from Stamford Bridge a few years ago. The German manager has a history of playing youngsters if they are ready for the first-team.

Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold are starters for the Reds, and the pair have done extremely well since breaking into the team.
