Lazar Markovic could be on his way out of Liverpool, with Mexican side Club America interested in the attacker, according to ESPN (h/t Mirror).
The Serbian has been relegated to the U23s this season and has been told he does not have a future at the club. Markovic was one of our costlier signings from Benfica a few years ago. Unfortunately, the 24-year-old has never been able to fulfil his potential.
Brendan Rodgers gave him a shot while the Serbian failed to take those opportunities. The Reds have a pretty slick team at the moment, and it would be a miracle if Markovic got some playing time in the senior side this season.
The Serbian even rejected a move to Anderlecht earlier in the season, and it would be best if he leaves the club as quickly as possible.
The Reds haven’t signed any players in the winter window but did see a couple of them leave. Nathaniel Clyne joined Bournemouth on loan until the end of the campaign while Dominic Solanke was sold to the Cherries.
Liverpool could do with some cover in the winter window as we head into the final stages of the season. Several defenders have minor knocks while we don’t have quality cover for the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
