The Liverpool Echo reports that the Reds are not interested in moving for Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi. The Bild (h/t Liverpool Echo) had earlier reported that the Reds had met with the player’s representatives over a move, however, the Echo claims Liverpool have no interest in signing a player in the winter window.
The report adds that Hudson-Odoi submitted a transfer request to Chelsea on Sunday and had a chance to impress in the FA Cup tie against Sheffield Wednesday. The English youngster started the clash and scored a goal in the 3-0 win over the lower league side.
The report adds that Jurgen Klopp is happy with the team he has and is not looking to add Hudson-Odoi to his squad. The manager doesn’t believe the English youngster would bring much to the side and could cost around £35m (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Liverpool have one of the best attacks in the world, and the Chelsea youngster would find it hard to get regular starts in the first-team. The 18-year-old has looked decent in the few starts he has received under Maurizio Sarri, but he is nowhere near to being the finished article.
Klopp would have been an ideal manager to ensure Hudson-Odoi’s development, but it seems his career lies elsewhere.
The report claims that Bayern Munich have been linked with the teen throughout the month, and the winger wants a deal to be completed before the January transfer window closes.
