Liverpool star Joe Gomez is set to face more time out after the club confirmed a surgery related to a lower leg fracture. The central defender picked up the injury in the win over Burnley and was expected to return to the side in February.
However, a release from Liverpool FC stated that the English youngster will go under the knife to “enable a more complete recovery”.
The statement adds that there is no return date for the defender, however, Liverpool believe he will play again this season.

This comes as a huge blow to the club given how great he was in the first half of the season. The 21-year-old formed a fantastic partnership alongside Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk.
The Reds have seen Van Dijk partner up with Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip this season, but the defence hasn’t looked as tight as it was earlier.
Liverpool are in with a chance of winning the Premier League and having Gomez back in the side would be a huge advantage. The centre-back isn’t the only one with injury problems as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dejan Lovren also have minor knocks.
However, the impact of the 21-year-old has been massive this season, and many fans were upset regarding the news of his surgery.
I’m actually going to cry. Month is ruined. 😭😭
