“We’ll certainly talk to Liverpool” – Bundesliga side to discuss on-loan Anfield youngster’s future

Michael Preetz, the Hertha Berlin sporting director, will speak to Liverpool about the future of Marko Grujic. The Serbian has impressed at the German club this season after signing on loan for the season. The 22-year-old has a couple of goals from 10 appearances and seems to be a quality addition to the side.

Preetz told Kicker (h/t Liverpool Echo) that he was happy with the youngster:

“First and foremost, we’re happy that we have Marko.

“I’d always prefer that a player helps me out for a year than not at all. We’ll certainly talk to Liverpool about the next season.”

Hertha lie ninth in the league standings and could make a run for the Europa League places come the end of the campaign.

It was a great move for Grujic to gain some first-team experience after doing well with Cardiff in the previous campaign. The midfielder seems to have everything in his locker to do well in the Premier League, and it will be interesting to see if he has a future at Anfield next season.

Grujic was the first signing Jurgen Klopp made when he took over as Liverpool manager, but the Serb hasn’t seen much first-team action at the club.

Liverpool are blessed with several midfielders at the moment but Grujic can fit into the scheme of things. The Serbian has a ton of potential too and Klopp could be the manager to helps the 22-year-old reach that.
