Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has rubbished claims of the Reds being nervous in the title race. Jurgen Klopp’s men have been excellent this season and are giving Manchester City a run for their money.
The two sides are locked on the same number of points with the Cityzens leading on goal difference, having played a game more.
Liverpool have stuttered in recent weeks with two consecutive 1-1 draws, however, they returned to winning ways with a comfortable and commanding display against Bournemouth.
The left-back claimed Klopp and the backroom staff have kept the team going, and there is no nervousness amongst the players (h/t Express
):“He has been calm and the backroom staff have been a different class. They are the team behind the team and they are the ones who keep us going and positive.
“When people say he is nervous or we are nervous it couldn’t be further from the truth. He’s probably been more ‘smiley’. He is just trying to get us going and it’s obviously worked.”
The Scot added that the attitude of the staff doesn’t change if they win, lose or draw. He also admitted that the team gets annoyed when they don’t win every game.
The Reds came back after two mediocre results with a fantastic display against Bournemouth on Saturday. Most importantly, we looked great in attack.

The scoreline should have been greater than the 3-0, as the front players missed several chances. Hopefully, we continue playing with the same swagger till the end of the season, as Manchester City seem to be taking things up a notch after their 6-0 drubbing of Chelsea.
