Liverpool managing director Billy Hogan has claimed that the Reds are in talks over the most lucrative kit deal in the club’s history, according to the Liverpool Echo.
New Balance are the current kit manufacturers but their deal runs out at the end of the 2019/20 season. The Reds’ kits were previously manufactured by the sister company of New Balance, Warrior.
The report adds that the current deal is worth £45million per season, while Manchester United’s Adidas deal is worth £75million per year. The Reds believe they can receive such an amount.
The Reds haven’t ruled out re-signing with New Balance and Hogan told the Drum (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“We are in conversation with New Balance and we are in conversation with others as well.
“(The kit deal) is an incredibly important partnership – not just for the financial support it delivers for the club but also from the distribution standpoint.”
The report adds that the Reds are in a great negotiating position. Jurgen Klopp’s men are fighting for the Premier League title and are in the last 16 of the Champions League
. The Reds also reached the finals of the Champions League last season. The Reds have been exceptional this season and should we win a title, it would certainly help us negotiate better deals with possible sponsors.
The report adds that Liverpool have 30 brand partners presently, which includes brands such as Standard Chartered, Western Union and Bet Victor.
