Latest Liverpool news: Sadio Mane’s home burgled while star was playing against Bayern Munich

The Evening Standard reports that Sadio Mane’s home was burgled while the Liverpool star faced off against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Reds drew the game 0-0 with Mane missing a couple of quality chances to give Liverpool a precious lead.

The report adds that robbers broke into his home in Allerton and stole several items such as mobile phones, car keys and watches. The raid lasted between 6 PM to 11:45 PM, according to the report.

This isn’t the first time the Senegal star has been burgled with a similar incident taking place in 2017 when he was playing against Maribor at Anfield, according to the report.

That incident had seen them even target Dejan Lovren, a neighbour of Mane’s but they fled when a woman said they would call the police.

Police want more information about the robbery

Detective inspector Phil Mahon asked the offenders to “do the right thing” and return the items stolen. The detective added that no one was at home during the incident and asked for more help regarding the case (h/t Evening Standard):

“We know the watches in particular are of significant monetary value and I would also like to appeal to anyone who might have been offered the items for sale since the burglary to contact police.”

This isn’t the first robbery that has taken place at Merseyside in recent years, and hopefully, the items are returned to Mane and the Liverpool star can concentrate on his football.
