Liverpool FC transfer news: Adrien Rabiot changes agents ahead of summer move

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot has sacked his mother and agent after Barcelona decided not to sign the Frenchman, according to reports (h/t Liverpool Echo).

The 23-year-old is a free agent at the end of the season after failing to extend his contract with the French giants.

The report adds that Rabiot has been consistently linked with a move to the Reds, despite Liverpool claiming they have no interest in the 23-year-old.

His decision to not sign a new deal has seen the Frenchman get demoted from the side. Rabiot hasn’t played for PSG since the December clash against Red Star in the Champions League.

Problems in Barcelona deal

The report adds that Barcelona failed to agree on a deal with PSG last month, however, Rabiot could have signed a pre-contract agreement with the Catalans but his mother could not pull the deal through.

Sport (h/t Liverpool Echo) adds that Barcelona are still interested in signing the player but he isn’t a priority.

The report further claims that the new offer for the 23-year-old would not be as lucrative as the had put on the table last month.

Rabiot is willing to join Barcelona, however, he could consider his options with Jurgen Klopp contemplating a move, according to the report.

The Frenchman is one of the most talented players in Ligue 1 and has the potential to get even better in the coming years.
