Latest Liverpool news: Kingsley Coman picks up another injury ahead of Champions League tie against Reds
Kingsley Coman could be out of the clash against Liverpool on 13 March after picking up an injury against Hertha Berlin.
The 22-year-old Frenchman played just nine minutes in the 1-0 win over Berlin with Bayern confirming that the midfielder suffered a hamstring tear and could be out for a while (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Manager Niko Kovac further added that he was worried about Coman not being fit for the crucial Champions League tie (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“He felt something on the muscle. We currently have no new information. If anything bigger happens to Kingsley Coman then he will not be able to play against Liverpool. I hope it’s not that bad.”
All up for grabs in the second leg
The midfielder had picked up a slight problem ahead of the first leg but was deemed fit to play at Anfield.
This would be a major loss for the side as they already have Thomas Muller and Joshua Kimmich out of the tie due to suspensions.
The tie is evenly poised at 0-0 and Liverpool have the capability to open up the Bayern defence, as they did in the first leg.
Our finishing let us down in that tie and we didn’t have Virgil van Dijk too. The Dutch defender was suspended for the first leg, but his return will be a huge bonus for us.

Bayern haven’t been dominant in the Bundesliga this season, and it will be an interesting battle between the two giants at the Allianz Arena in a few weeks.
