Latest Liverpool news: Liverpool fans react to 0-0 draw against Manchester United

The match was built up as a true test for our title credentials and Manchester United’s new found form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, however, we were treated to a drab affair with the home side actually having the better of the chances.

Alisson had to come up big to stop Jesse Lingard in the first half while Chris Smalling missed the best chance of the game as he missed an inviting cross in the second half.

Liverpool didn’t really create much and Mohamed Salah was a peripheral figure in the game. The Egyptian was also replaced late on with Divock Origi coming on but to no avail.

Injuries galore at Old Trafford

Manchester United had to deal with three injuries in the first half itself as Jesse Lingard, Ander Herrera and Juan Mata all suffering problems.

Liverpool too had a problem when Roberto Firmino had to be replaced with Daniel Sturridge coming on.

Given that United had to bring on so many players early on, we should have taken advantage, however, the home side had the better chances.

A point against the most in-form side in the Premier League away isn’t a bad result and we lie ahead of Manchester City in the table.

However, there is no room for error now as City keep piling on the pressure with the wins.

Our next game is against Watford in midweek and many Liverpool fans were left frustrated with the result at Old Trafford.
