Latest Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp claims Roberto Firmino could play against Everton
Roberto Firmino could play in the Merseyside derby on Sunday, according to Jurgen Klopp.
The Brazilian rolled his ankle in the 0-0 draw against Manchester United and missed the 5-0 hammering of Watford at Anfield.
Firmino hasn’t been in fantastic form this season, but he is a crucial part of our team. Speaking before the clash at Goodison, Klopp said that the Brazilian is back in training and is a could start on Sunday (h/t Metro):
“He was out there in the running yesterday [Thursday] but we have to see how he reacts.
“He is very positive, that’s Bobby’s nature. We have to see. I don’t see any other player – OK, we have maybe two or three more of them – being even in contention for that game after the little problem he had.
“It looks really good but if he will be ready for Sunday, I don’t know in this second.”
Firmino not missed against Watford
The Brazilian’s movement and pressing are keys to his game, and even without goals or assists, he creates lots of space for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane to exploit.
However, against Watford, Mane was played down the middle with Divock Origi on the left and Salah on the right.
The team were excellent against the Hornets with Mane and Origi amongst the goals, and it is to be seen if Klopp changes the team after that showing.
The 5-0 demolition of the Hornets kept us on top of the Premier League, and Liverpool need to keep winning to ensure Manchester City stay behind us.

The Reds were a little lucky in the last meeting between the two, and hopefully, we batter the Toffees at the weekend to keep our momentum going.
