Latest Liverpool news: Robbie Fowler claims Jurgen Klopp is a calming influence behind the scenes

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler has claimed Jurgen Klopp is a different person away from the spotlight of the cameras.

The German is known for his exuberant personality on the touchline and seems to be very passionate during the game, however, Fowler claimed the manager is something else, while speaking to the Mirror (h/t Express):

“I’ve seen him coaching, I’ve seen how he is around the training ground – and it is totally different to the wide-eyed figure you see on match day.

“One of his greatest qualities is the atmosphere he creates.”

The former striker added that the German is more technical than he is given credit for and added that the manager knows how important team spirit and mentality are to win games.

Fowler further claimed that Klopp keeps his players relaxed during games, which is great when the pressure is on:

“So he works on keeping his players relaxed and happy all week, enjoying being there at the training ground, enjoying being together.”

Klopp needs to get the Reds over the line

The current Liverpool side might not have many title winners but Klopp has picked up the Bundesliga title twice against a tough Bayern Munich side.

The German broke the domination of the Bundesliga giants, and the Reds are in a great position to finally land a Premier League title under Klopp.

There are still several games to go and more twists and turns are along the way, but Klopp has transformed the Reds during his tenure at Anfield.
