Virgil van Dijk would not be happy with some of Liverpool’s defending in the 4-2 win over Burnley.
The Reds conceded one sloppy goal late on while the first one should have been ruled out for a foul on Alisson.
The Dutchman was still the best defender on the pitch and kept Burnley’s attackers in check for most of the tie.
It was important for Liverpool to get the three points to cut the gap to Manchester City. We now sit one point behind the Cityzens and have an important tie against Bayern Munich in midweek.
Van Dijk knows about the crucial nature of this game and tweeted regarding the same.
Bayern have found their form in recent weeks and scored six goals in their previous game. They have also usurped Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga but the Reds have once ace to stop them scoring.
Van Dijk missed the first leg due to suspension and will be back for the second leg Champions League tie on Wednesday.
The first game ended in a draw with the Reds dominating most of the game, however, we couldn’t break through the Bayern defence.
The Germans will be without the services of Thomas Muller and Joshua Kimmich due to suspension.
