Latest Liverpool news: Steven Gerrard scores winner in 3-2 win over Milan Glorie

Steven Gerrard turned back the clock to score a late-winner for Liverpool FC Legends against Milan Glorie in the LFC Foundation charity match at Anfield.

The game was between two sides that met in the Champions League finals on 2015 and 2017. Liverpool won the first one in dramatic fashion on penalties while AC Milan got revenge a couple of years later.

The Reds had players such as Robbie Fowler, Luis Garcia, Glen Johnson and Dirk Kuyt lining up in front of a packed Anfield.

Milan too came with some big guns as Andrea Pirlo, Filippo Inzaghi, Kaka, Cafu and Gennaro Gattuso came to play.

Reds pegged back after taking the lead

The Reds raced into a two-goal lead thanks to strikes from Fowler and Djibril Cisse. Kenny Dalglish’s men traded chances with the Milan team throughout the game, and the Italians came back in the second half.

Pirlo scored a trademark curler from 22-yards out to beat Sander Westerveld before Giuseppe Pancaro levelled it up at two a piece with a great curling effort.

It was all set up for Gerrard to have the last say as he provided the match-winning moment.
