There was relief on the faces of all the players who scored for Liverpool on Friday as they beat Southampton 3-1.
Shane Long got the opener before Naby Keita scored his first goal for the club from a header.
The Reds then had to wait till the 80th
minute to take the lead when Mohamed Salah expertly finished off a counter all on his own.Jordan Henderson made the points safe with a third, and while the Reds battled past the Saints, there were some funny moments in the game too.
Salah scored his first goal since the one against Bournemouth in early February, and you could see how much it meant to him as he took his shirt off to celebrate.
The Liverpool players ran on to celebrate with him with Andy Robertson and Henderson wanting to hug the Egyptian.
However, the forward is tough to catch hold off in the box (when in full flight) and it was a problem again as both Hendo and Robbo ended up grabbing one another.
This was also Salah’s 50th Premier League goal for Liverpool.
Salah, Keita and Hendo all needed the goals as the Reds moved two points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Manchester City still have a game in hand on us, but we are not going to give up without a fight.
The Reds have five more Premier League games while City have to face Manchester United and Tottenham in their run in.
Hopefully, they will drop more points than we do and we can end the season in the best way possible.
