Liverpool FC transfer news: Liverpool face competition for Julian Brandt
According to a report from German publication Bild, Liverpool are prepared to meet Bayer Leverkusen ace Julian Brandt’s £22million release clause this summer but will face competition from Juventus and Real Madrid.
Julian Brandt, 22, is regarded as one of the exciting talents in European football. The Germany international has enjoyed a good season with Leverkusen, contributing with seven goals and 14 assists. And his performances haven’t gone unnoticed, with Liverpool interested in signing him this summer.
Liverpool have one of the fearsome attacking trios in world football, with the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino capable of destroying any team. Our trio link up extremely well between them and always look to make their presence felt on the pitch.
But since Philippe Coutinho left Anfield for Barcelona, the Reds’ attack have lost a bit of flair and the cutting edge in the final third. We have felt the problem this season where our forwards have failed to breach the defences of the team that sat deep.
Julian Brandt would fit the bill at Anfield
Thus, a player like Julian Brandt is an absolute no-brainer for Liverpool. The 22-year-old possesses good pace, ability to pick a pass and split open defences with incisive through balls. A technically-gifted player, the German can play anywhere across the front line. He has a very good vision and his off the ball movement always keeps the defenders on their toes.
Brandt has the qualities to thrive in Klopp’s system at Anfield, whilst being a proper replacement for Coutinho. He could bring the much-needed flair to the team and keep our attacking trio on their toes as well.

And considering the 22-year-old playmaker has a release clause set at £22million, Brandt would represent a massive coup if we manage to land him in the summer.
