Luis Suarez left Liverpool for Barcelona and has been one of their best signings ever.
The Uruguayan is already fifth in their all-time scorers list and will face the Reds in the Champions League semi-finals.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are completely different from what Brendan Rodgers had in 2013. Suarez
was also part of the side that missed out on the Premier League title to Manchester City. The Reds are again battling City for the Premier League crown but this team is far better than what we had in 2013.
That title charge was built around the attacking trio of Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge and Suarez while Steven Gerrard kept doing his bit from the midfield.
Suarez highlighted the gulf in class between the two Liverpool teams and claimed their title win would have been bigger (h/t Guardian
):“When I was there, it was very different. We were on the verge of the Premier League with a squad nowhere near as good.
“They didn’t spend as much as they’re doing now. Any player would like to go to Liverpool now; it was different then.
“If we’d won the league, I think it would have been an even bigger achievement than if this team do.”
The Champions League semi will also see Philippe Coutinho return to Anfield after his move to Barcelona.
Suarez is still one of the best players to have graced Anfield, and although he is happy to return to Anfield, the Uruguayan will give it his all on the pitch.
The former Ajax star certainly is another player we have to keep an eye on and Lionel Messi will need to be neutralised if we are to qualify for the finals.
The first leg is at the Nou Camp before Barcelona return a couple of weeks later to Anfield. Hopefully, we get the better of our former stars and reach a second straight Champions League final.
