The Mirror reports that Roberto Firmino has taken another step in his rehab as he looks to return ahead of the Champions League final.
The Liverpool forward hasn’t played for us since the first leg Champions League semi-final against Barcelona, where he lasted just 11 minutes.
The Brazilian is nursing a thigh tear and the report claims that the forward is being carefully monitored. Firmino also travelled with the team for a training camp in Marbella (h/t Mirror).
The report adds that the forward has been working with Liverpool’s strength and rehabilitation assistant David Ridings and also the club’s physio Sven Kampmann.
The former Hoffenheim star shared a few clips from his training routine and was seen running on the pitch and kicking the football.
Firmino is a crucial cog in the Liverpool system and having him fit for the final would be a huge boost to the team.
The Reds did pretty well without him in the semi-final second leg against Barcelona, winning 4-0, and we could see Divock Origi lead the line should Firmino not be fit for the final.
The Brazilian has bagged 16 goals and provided 7 assists for us all season and even scored against Tottenham in both Premier League clashes this season.
The Reds should start as favourites against Mauricio Pochettino’s men and we could see Bobby bag another important goal in Madrid.
